Improving Chaser's 'Thanks For Paying' Messages

Written by David Tuck | 14 Sep, '15

One of Chaser’s most popular features is the ability to send automatic “thanks for paying” messages for your invoices the next working dayafter they’re marked as paid in Xero. These chasers, configured and worded exactly as you choose, can help to strengthen relationships with your customers by acknowledging payments in a friendly and polite way - without any extra work on your behalf.

Chaser already allows you to choose whether individual invoices should be chased so that you can chase most of the invoices for a particular customer, but not ones that may be under discussion or where payment has already been promised. If an invoice is set not to be chased then we currently send no messages at all - even “thanks for paying” emails.

However, we recently received an excellent suggestion from Valentina Chemodanova at Futurebooks (who is also a member of the Chaser Partner Program) to improve our payment-acknowledgement system. So from today, Chaser will send automatic “thanks for paying” messages in respect of all invoices for customers who are themselves also being chased. This means that you can relax in knowing that we will not chase an invoice where payment has been promised and you’ve therefore chosen to stop chasing it, but that we will automatically thank them on your behalf once it’s marked as paid in Xero. We will of course continue to not send such messages where you’ve explicitly chosen to chase neither the invoice nor the relevant customer.

We’d like to say thank you again to Valentina for the suggestion - we especially enjoy enhancing Chaser in response to feedback, so please get in touch if you have any suggestions for further improvements!
