Keep your receivables visible: Auto-log Chaser emails in Zoho CRM

Managing accounts receivable is more than just sending reminders — it requires seamless collaboration across teams. When your finance team uses Chaser to automate payment follow-ups and your sales or customer success teams operate within Zoho CRM, there's often a visibility gap.

Chaser's new Zoho CRM email logging feature bridges this gap by automatically logging invoice reminders, follow-ups, and payment conversations directly into your Zoho CRM.

In this post, we'll cover:

  • What the new Zoho CRM integration does
  • Step-by-step: how to set it up
  • Key benefits for your teams and processes
  • Real-world examples of how it can help
  • Where to find support and resources Zoho

What is Chaser’s Zoho CRM email logging feature?

Chaser's Zoho CRM integration allows users to automatically log outgoing emails into Zoho CRM by forwarding them using your unique BCC or CC email address.

Once enabled, all your receivables emails — such as payment reminders, follow-ups, and replies — will be attached to the relevant contact record inside Zoho CRM. This means anyone reviewing a contact's activity timeline will see a full record of what was sent, when, and to whom.

There's no need to manually copy messages or check different inboxes to find out whether a customer was reminded about payment. Everything is tracked automatically.

Why does logging emails in Zoho CRM matter?

Zoho CRM often serves as the central source of truth for many businesses. Sales teams use it to monitor deals and customer interactions, while customer success teams track onboarding and account health. However, critical communication like payment reminders often resides elsewhere — in finance tools or individual inboxes.

This disconnect creates gaps. A sales rep might contact a customer without knowing they've been chased about an overdue invoice. A customer success manager might follow up on a ticket, unaware that finance is still awaiting payment. Such scenarios can lead to friction for your teams and confusion for your customers (Zoho).

By logging your receivables emails in Zoho CRM, you make that information accessible — where your teams are already working.

How to set up Chaser email logging in Zoho CRM

Setup is quick and can be completed in a few simple steps:

Step 1: Get your Zoho CRM BCC address

  • In Zoho CRM, navigate to Setup > Channels > Email > Email Sharing Settings.
  • Copy your unique BCC address from this section.
  • You may also need to add all acceptable email addresses that you or your team use to send emails to debtors. This ensures messages from Chaser are recognized and logged correctly.

Step 2: Add your address in Chaser

  • In Chaser, go to Manage > Sending > Email Logging.
  • Paste the Zoho CRM BCC address into the field provided.
  • From here, Chaser will begin sending a copy of each email to Zoho CRM, where it will be matched to the appropriate contact record based on the email address.

Choosing BCC vs CC

Chaser supports both BCC and CC options, depending on your Zoho CRM setup:

  • Use BCC if you're already using Zoho CRM's email extension. This helps avoid duplicates by logging only the initial Chaser message and not replies you send manually.
  • Use CC if you're not using Zoho CRM's email extension and want replies to be logged as well. This will include more of the message thread but could require occasional manual intervention if someone replies directly rather than replying all.

Key benefits of logging receivables emails in Zoho CRM

While the setup is simple, the benefits are far-reaching for growing finance and commercial teams. Here's what your business gains by enabling this feature:

  1. A shared view of payment activity

Now, everyone from sales to customer success can view when a payment reminder was sent or whether a follow-up has gone unanswered. That transparency improves coordination, avoids misunderstandings, and ensures the customer receives consistent messaging.

  1. A complete audit trail

Receivables emails are now automatically stored alongside every other customer interaction in Zoho CRM. This means you no longer need to rely on shared inboxes or check manually for follow-up threads.

  1. Time savings and reduced admin

With Chaser handling email sending and Zoho CRM logging them in the background, there's no need to manually forward messages or enter notes. It's one less thing for finance to think about and one more way to keep your systems connected.

  1. Better reporting and workflows

Because messages appear in Zoho CRM as part of the contact timeline, they can be included in reporting dashboards or workflows. Want to trigger an internal notification if a reminder has been ignored for 7 days? You can build that with the data now flowing in.

  1. Flexible to match your current setup

Whether you already use Zoho CRM's own email logging tools or not, this integration adapts to your preferences. Choose BCC or CC depending on how much of the conversation you want to capture.

Example scenarios where this feature helps

To bring the feature to life, here are a few common examples of how Chaser email logging into Zoho CRM makes a difference:

Scenario 1: Sales preparing for a renewal

Your sales rep checks Zoho CRM before a renewal call. They can immediately see that the customer was sent a payment reminder three days ago through Chaser. With that context, they're better prepared to address any objections or unpaid balances in the conversation.

Scenario 2: Finance handover or cover

A finance team member is covering for a colleague who's out of office. Instead of searching through inboxes or asking for message history, they open the contact's Zoho CRM record and review all receivables emails sent through Chaser.

Scenario 3: Customer success check-in

Customer success wants to reach out to check in on satisfaction or NPS, but first they review Zoho CRM and notice the account is overdue — and has been reminded twice via Chaser. This insight helps them tailor their messaging and avoid escalating a sensitive situation.

Ready to keep your receivables visible?

Chaser's Zoho CRM email logging feature is now available to all users with the email integration enabled. Setup is fast, and once it's configured, your Chaser messages will automatically appear on the timeline of your Zoho CRM contact records.

That means no more disconnected systems, no more missed updates, and no more inbox chasing — just one clear view of every customer conversation.
